The middle of World War II and two years after the Bristol Blitz. This letter shows Helmore & Hunt have moved from 17 to 35 Milk Street, as a result of the bombing. They are engaged in the manufacture of 'eye warmers' for the Bristol Eye Hospital - a rather frightening early form of RF heat treatment. We still have their original design drawings!
